8 fields, one card each, and what a card is.

A card is one field's season: real ground in a named county, the crop, the lease, and the arithmetic the register already prints, priced at what that season asks for. Nothing on a card is a projection — the return is this month's published price applied to a county's own yield, and the card prints the month it was read.

The money would be USDG, the dollar the vault takes, and the second door is $GREENZ, which is the platform token. Both come from a record rather than from memory, which is why, on every card below, both buttons print the address they are missing instead of pretending to open.

What a card is not

  • not a deed

The vault holds dollars, not dirt. No card conveys land, a boundary, a title, or the right to walk onto the field, and the photograph on it is the county's orthoimagery rather than a survey of anybody's parcel.

  • not a projection

The return is this month's published price multiplied by the county's published yield and the lease's own terms: the register's arithmetic, run a second time. It says nothing about what this season will do, because nobody knows that.

  • not a land price

What a season costs and what the register thinks it keeps are bookkeeping, not a bid. Farmland trades at prices that have nothing to do with a bushel of corn, and nothing here values the ground itself.

  • not yet

Until the record names USDG and a vault, a card is a price with no door: every button under it is shut, the line beside it says which address is missing, and nothing on this page can take a dollar.

Where every figure came from

the prices
FRED PMAIZMTUSDM, PSOYBUSDM, PWHEAMTUSDM, PCOTTINDUSDM— monthly observations published by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, read July 2026.
the yields
county estimate — USDA NASS, 2024; assumed — irrigated Nebraska average, no lease signed; assumed — Iowa average for the rotation, no lease signed; assumed — Red River Valley average, no lease signed; assumed — Texas High Plains irrigated lint, no lease signed No service publishes a yield for ground nobody has leased yet, so the register names the assumption instead of dressing it as data.
the ground
NAIP orthoimagery, flown 2023-08-30 / 2019-08-09 / 2019-09-14 / 2023-08-19 / 2022-07-23 / 2023-10-21 / 2023-07-26 / 2022-09-05, collected by the USDA and served by the USGS: public domain, one metre native, and centred on a county until a lease arrives with a boundary in it. The window under each card was cut from that service once and is carried with this site, so a card shows its ground whether the service is answering or not; the raster's own id is printed beneath the picture.
the money
The inputs, the operator's share and the cash rents are the register's own terms in config/parcels.json, and the multiplication is the register's module run again rather than a spreadsheet kept beside this page.

The register prints these same figures for these same fields, and it is the page to hold a card against: the register. Where the two ever disagree, the register is right and this page has a bug.

greenz.fun is an art and education project rather than a broker: nothing here is an offer to sell a security, a solicitation of an offer to buy one, or investment advice, and the register's figures are published government data rather than a promise about anyone's money. The fields are placeholder ground in counties that publish real statistics — no farm has signed with this project, which is why every photograph is centred on a county rather than on a boundary. A card whose door is shut has no shares to buy anywhere.
